As you can see, I am pretty terrible at keeping up on writing these things. However, I have stuck to this challenge. I even went to the beach and brought pasta salad made from items purchased at Super 24 and the vegetable stand.
Best discoveries:
This amazing juice--it was rasberry, strawberry and orange. Delicious!
Good oatmeal
I can buy my deodorant and razors there!
Things I can't get:
Meat--not really a big deal after being a vegetarian for 2 years
Cheese--God, I miss cheese :(
I will be making a run later this week and will post some more pics!

Challenge Accepted...
So, about a year ago, my roommate and I came up with this brilliant idea (or what seemed brilliant after a few glasses of rum and/or wine). It was to only shop at the Super 24 for 24 days. Super 24 is a local convenience store chain here in Guatemala. I mean, they seriously have everything you could possibly want or need--alcohol, food, toiletries, everything. For some reason or another, we never got around to doing it.
This year, Lindsey has proposed the idea again. And since I really didn't have any other ideas for Lenten resolutions, this seemed as good as any. This time it will last the 40 days of Lent--she in Kuwait, me in Guatemala. She will be doing all of her shopping at the convenience store there.

The rules (adjusted a little for me):

The rules (adjusted a little for me):
- I can only purchase necessary items that I am planning to consume right away.
- I can not eat out, unless I am on vacation.
- I can buy fresh vegetables and fruits from the stand in my neighborhood.
I made my first stop today (after accepting) and now I'm a little nervous, but here goes nothin'!
